Welcome. I'm a licensed therapist providing counseling to adults and adolescents in Oakland, California. I know the decision to enter therapy is never made lightly, and I hope you'll look around my website to get a sense of whether I might be a good match for your needs.
I admit that even after having spent thousands of hours listening to and learning from clients, I still don't know exactly how therapy works. But I know that something very deep occurs when we sit and talk face-to-face in a spirit of real interest and warmth, and that the effects can be genuine and long-lasting. Over the years, I've been honored to work with individuals and families struggling with a wide range of difficulties, including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, questions about identity, or just a simple sense that life has become somehow unsatisfying and empty. I'm especially interested in those difficult chapters in our lives where we recognize that real changes need to be made, even if we sometimes aren't sure exactly what they are or how we might be able to make them.
I welcome clients of all ages, genders, races, sexual orientations and backgrounds.
If you'd like to talk, you're welcome to contact me by phone or email to set up a free phone consultation. You can also fill out the contact form (just click on "contact" and scroll down) and I'll respond promptly.
